Christmas Cards

I am just going to go on and apologize for not sending any Christmas cards out this year. I waited to long to try and get a picture of Ellie. This was the best that I got. I promise I will send them out next year....early!

18 Months

Okay, I know I have been awful about posting lately! I'm sorry! Ellie had her 18 month check up right after Thanksgiving. She weighs 25 lbs and is either 33 or 34 inches. I couldn't find the sheet from the doctor with the exact numbers. She is still in the 97% for her height. Her weight was in the 76%, if I remember correctly!

Thanksgiving....a little late

We spent Thursday evening with my family. Ellie and Braxton had a BLAST playing in the newspaper. I never thought that a newspaper would be so entertaining!

We spent Friday through Sunday in Helen, GA with Christian's family. It was nice to get away and spend time with family. This was one of the Santa's in Helen. Ellie was more interested in the Husky than Santa. She wouldn't sit with him by herself.

Shrek

Ellie has been so funny lately. She absolutely loves Shrek. We haven’t quite figured out why. The new Tahoe has a DVD player in it; the first movie that she watched in the Tahoe was Shrek. EVERY night she comes to you, sticks her hand out to get ours and then takes us to the door to go out into the garage. This happens at least ten times a night…no lie! If we don’t go with her, it’s a tantrum.

We have learned to put Shrek on in the house. She does seem to quiet down and watch it. A couple of weeks ago I took Ellie with me and went shopping. Ellie was sitting in her stroller. All of a sudden I hear “ugh, ugh, ugh.” I look up and she is pointing at a shirt on a rack. I turn to look at the shirt. It is a little boy’s shirt with SHREK on it! I just can’t figure out what her fascination is with Shrek. Most little girls like Dora, not Ellie!

Pebbles and Bamm Bamm

I thought it would be cute if we dressed Ellie and Braxton as Pebbles and Bamm Bamm. We couldn't find costumes, so we improvised. I found Ellie's onesie and then a skirt that mom made into shorts for Braxton. I made the bones for both of them and mom made the sash and stick (not shown - we forgot to get it for the picture). I think it turned out cuter than expected.

Washington Farms Pumpkin Patch

We went with Christian's family to a pumpkin patch on Saturday. Ellie loved the pig races. She kept calling them dogs. Ellie and I, along with Elisa and Haedyn, got to ride on the cow train.

Mom and I went shopping Wednesday night. When I got home, I showed Ellie the shirt I got her for next summer. She carried it around for a little while and then decided that she needed to wear it. It fits her perfectly as a dress. Her hat is an OU hat that she got in Texas this summer.

New Car

I know this blog is about Ellie, but I just had to show everybody my new car! I am so excited because it is my first brand new car! Christian went and picked this up for me on Monday! I love it! Thanks, sweetie!!

A Day at the Park

Curly Cue

I have been very bad about posting! Sorry!

I thought I would show everybody Ellie's curly hair. I have no idea where she gets the curls from. She definitely doesn't get it from Christian. I do have a little bit of a wave in my hair, but I definitely don't have these ringlets. I just love these curls.

I took her Tuesday night for another hair cut. I think this is her 4th or 5th one. We put layers in her hair. Joyce, the lady that cuts her hair, said it would help the top look better since it doesn't have any curls at all.

Boat Ride

Every time we go to the lake, Ellie ends up taking a nap or two. On Sunday, Ellie kept going under our feet and lying down on the floor. I put a towel down to make it more comfortable for her. She ended up falling asleep for about an hour.

Ellie has become such a little sponge. Christian and I love it. We have been reading this book to her about what animal makes what sound. On Tuesday night, she brought the book over to me to read it to her. One of the pages asks, “What does a woolly lamb say?” Before I could read her the response, she said “baa.” She did the same for the cow and billy goat. It is great seeing her learn new things.

Ellie Update

A couple of Sunday's ago we took Ellie over to Suwanee Park to let her play in the fountains. She loved it.

Ellie is talking up a storm. Most of the time we can't understand what she is saying, but she is talking a lot. I am sure we are going to have a problem with her talking during class in the future!

Last night, she was talking and truthfully I wasn't paying attention. Christian said I think she just said apple. I looked at Ellie and said "apple." She looked at me and said it back. Yeah! I was so excited!

Ellie has had a bad cough for about a week now. Thankfully, it is sounding better. Sometimes I would pat her back when she would cough. Now when she coughs she pats her own chest. It is so cute!

Lastly, Ellie broke another tooth. She also has another one that will break through any day now. I can't believe how fast they are coming now. I think this makes 7 teeth in about a month and half! She is so good with it though!

Thankfully, Ellie loves going to the lake. She loves to stick her hand in the water and then suck on her fingers!

Ellie had 2 more teeth break through earlier this week. She has doubled the amount of teeth within about 3 weeks. So, she has 10 teeth. I was doing some research, and it looks like she still has 10 more to go by the time she is about 2. She must have a huge tolerance for pain becuase I had know idea that she had broke these last 2.

Christian and I love watching Ellie develop into a little girl. Some nights we will take Ellie on a walk. We were walking down the sidewalk. Ellie was holding my hand. All of a sudden she drops my hand and walks to Christian and grabs his hand! Too cute and funny!

Ellie seems to be latching on to a few things lately. One is her teddy bear and the other is a blanket that I keep in her crib. I always rock her a little to calm her down before I put her in bed. She saw this teddy bear sitting on the night stand in her room. She got it and proceeded to crawl in my lap with it. She ended up falling asleep with her arm around it. Too sweet!

When she wakes up in the morning, she won't let me get her out of her crib until she has her blanket in hand. Thankfully, she is not one that has to have it. After she wakes up a little, she lives the blanket behind.

Ellie had a big week last week. We noticed on Tuesday that one of her bottom molars had finally broke. On Friday, I noticed that two more teeth had broke. She hasn't been sleeping very well lately. I guess I know why now.

Night Gown

This is a night gown that I wore when I was a child. Ellie is extremely hot natured. She sleeps in a short sleeved onesie with her fan on high. You would think that she would get cold, but she doesn't.

Jekyll Island

The first half of last week Christian, Ellie and I were in Jekyll Island. It was Ellie's first trip to the beach. She didn't seem to mind the salt water. We didn't stay at the beach long. I was worried about her getting burned. She refuses to wear a hat! Ugh!

Dallas, TX

Ellie and I spent the second half of the week in Dallas while Christian was in Vegas. We flew in late Wednesday night and left Sunday afternoon. Ellie did great. She slept on both plane rides. We had a lot of fun. Ellie went to her first water park. It was great! I wish they had one around Atlanta like it. Ellie got to meet most of my mom's family.
