Ellie

She loved playing with Christian's truck tire. I guess she liked it because she could see herself in it. She was talking to it like there was somebody standing there. Too funny!

The picture above is of her famous head stand! I am not sure where she got this from!

Here are some pictures from this weekend. Ellie is walking so good! It is amazing to see how much she has come along in a week! We were blowing bubbles for Ellie. She liked it at first, but then she was more interested in the cap!

Family Photo Time

These pictures were attempts at taking a family photo of the "kids." As you can tell, it didn't quite work! There are a few cute pictures!!

Surgery Update!

I am sorry for the delay in updating everyone about Ellie's surgery! The website has not been working properly!
Ellie did receive tubes on Thursday. It could not have gone any better. We arrived right about 6 am and were leaving a little after 8 am. Ellie started fussing a few minutes before dad took her back to the OR.
It literally took about 5 minutes for the doctor to place the tubes. They said it was best for her to sleep for about 15 minutes afterwards. She woke up and downed a bottle of apple juice and then was ready for her bottle of milk! She took it all like a champ!
Here are a few pictures from the day!

Waiting in the car before we went up!

They had fun toys in the waiting room!

Pre-op: more fun toys! The yellow toy on the ground is a toy that they gave Ellie!

Post-op! These broke my heart! I know she was just sleeping, but I didn't like seeing her like this!!

Surgery Scheduled!

These top 3 pictures were taken this morning! She is such a cutie pie! I love her so much!!!
We are scheduled tomorrow for her tubes...as long as insurance turns in the paperwork to the doctor by today. When I talked to her ENT on Monday, she will be the first patient at 7:30 am. I will keep you updated!

On the move! She never stops now. She is taking about 4 or 5 steps at a time. I wonder if she is going to really start walking once we get her ears fixed.

This is Ellie's walker. We had been holding it while she walked behind it because we thought it moved too fast for her. Well, we figured out that it wasn't too fast. She loves to walk behind it. She will do a couple of circles around our couches before she gets tired and moves on to something else. She gets upset when she runs into something and can't keep going. She hasn't quite figured out how to turn it around!

We have been trying to keep Ellie up a little later because she has been waking up in the middle of the night. When she starts to get fussy, we take her to the back door and let her look at and talk to the dogs! She loves it! I guess she got tired of standing, so she decided to use dad as a pillow! Too cute!

ENT Appointment

"Who are you and what did you do with my parents?"

"You talkin' to me!"
Ellie saw the ENT Specialist on Friday. Ellie will be getting tubes!!
Her right eardrum had ruptured too, at some point. She does have a little bit of hearing loss. The doctor said that it should correct itself once she gets the tubes and the fluid drains. I am not sure when she will get the tubes. The scheduling coordinator was out of the office! Of course! I hope to have it scheduled on Monday.
I hope that she gets them before she comes off her current antibiotic. Even though it is not completely killing the infection, it seems to keep it under control, so she is not in pain!
Ellie seems to be getting back to her old self. She still isn't eating her baby food as much as I would like. She is starting to eat more table foods. She seems to like bread items...french toast, pancakes, pizza crust!
I will keep you all updated as soon as we get the information!

Our Poor Baby Girl

Daycare called yesterday and said that they couldn't get Ellie to calm down! Three different people tried and nothing would work.
Christian took her to the doctor. Her left eardrum had burst and her right ear is still infected. Ellie had just finished an oral antibiotic on Monday. They have put her back on another antibiotic and some ear drops. I am trying to get in touch with ENT now to see if we can get her in sooner than the 16th. Obviously, the antibiotics are not touching the infection!
I pray that we can see the ENT within the next day or so!
These pictures were taken last night. All she wanted to do was sleep on us! It was kind of hard to lay her down. We were trying to wake her up around 7, so she would go back to sleep later and hopefully sleep through the night. She was completely out of it. All of a sudden, she sat up and put her hand over her mouth and started making noises....kind of like an indian! It was the funniest thing!
She seemed a little more like herself this morning. Christian is staying home with her today! Hopefully, this antibiotic will work!
